Standing Strong, Changing Futures

TJP Advocacy stands for the equitable treatment of all
people impacted by sexual exploitation.

Our Mission

Many laws pre-date technological and system-wide advancements, causing unintentional harm to survivors. TJP Advocacy works alongside law enforcement and public officials to help reform the justice system, helping protect survivors of sexual exploitation while holding their exploiters accountable.

Legislation we currently support

The Survivor Model

The Survivor Model (also known as the Equality Model or Nordic Model) is a framework for combatting human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation by providing relief through exit services and decriminalizing prostitution for those that are the most vulnerable – those selling sex either because of force or circumstance, while holding those that fuel the sex trade, buyers, pimps, brothel owners, etc. accountable.

Shield Act

The SHIELD Act, standing for Stopping Harmful Image Exploitation and Limiting Distribution Act, aims to amend current federal law in order to criminalize the distribution of private intimate visual depictions, introduces penalties, and provides an exception for lawful activities, focusing on protecting individuals from harm caused by such unauthorized distribution.

Trafficking Survivors Relief Act

The Trafficking Survivors Relief Act (TSRA) aims to provide relief for victims of human trafficking by allowing for the vacating of certain convictions and the expungement of specific arrests. TSRA mirrors many state vacatur laws and would provide federal relief to victims of human trafficking.

Our Focus

Education

With so many topics circulating in today’s news world, it’s hard to navigate it all. Our goal is to educate what options are available that best benefit survivors.

Partnership

We can accomplish more together. Our work encourages key stakeholders to work with each other for greater impact.

Elevate Survivor Voices

Survivors should be at the forefront of every conversation relating to their lived experience. We create opportunities for more survivors to engage in this work.

Stand with survivors of Exploitation
